The Studio

 

The origins of Action Synthese lay on organizing a contest to award French emerging CG computer talents in Paris between 1995 and 1999. Since the competition was pretty successful, we created our own 3D animation studio in 1998:

Action Synthese produced two short movies in 1999: “Antebios” directed by François Béranger and “Premier Domicile Connu” by Laurent Bénégui. The strong commercial success of the movies financed the development of a feature film project “The Magic Roundabout”. In 2000 Action Synthese moves to Marseille in Provence, by the French Riviera, to prepare the film.

Pathé U.K. immediately appraised the high value of the project and the artistic developments implemented by the studio. They brought $ 25 M. to the studio to control and manage the full production of the whole film, apart from the script and the soundtrack.

“The Magic Roundabout” (feature film) is released in 2005, in time and conforming the budget, and distributed everywhere in Europe, United States and South America. The movie generated a 10 $M. box office revenues in the United Kingdom, a $ 4 M. profits in derivative products and merchandises, and sold 1 M. of theatre tickets in France. “The Magic Roundabout” became hence the top French CG Animated movie on international scale, as it generated a total of $ 38 M. of revenues from theatre tickets sales.

This achievement paved the way to the development of plenty of new feature films and TV series productions, amongst them the production of “The Magic Roundabout” TV series : 52 episodes are delivered in 2008.

Another “Magic Roundabout” season is delivered in 2010, raising the number of episodes up to 104.

The TV series is designed to be artistically and technically an upscale product, crowned with success by the public’s flying satisfaction and highly praised by TV channels (M6, Nickelodeon, Disney, ZDF) since audience ratings are excellent and the quality is considered to be much better than the average TV programs for children. TV France, the French organisation of TV exporters, values the audience ratings to 168 M. of viewers across French boarders.

In 2010, Creacon entrust his successful TV series to Action Synthese. We are now about to deliver the 26 episodes of City of Friends and two special episodes for Halloween and Christmas Holidays. The improvement of quality gathered buyers from more than 120 countries.

In 2005, the Company was granted the prestigious Prix des Gazelles which reward companies with above 33% increasing talents’ hiring and sales revenues over two consecutive years. We then were awarded in 2010 and 2011 by the French Government’s OSEO award, for our managerial and financial Excellency as we are rated amongst the top 2000 French entrepreneurs.

Action Synthese Studio enjoy the benefits of a 13 years long experience and possess a full 3D production pipeline to produce feature films and TV series aimed at international distributors and broadcasters in the mark of an affordable but high quality upscale productions.
